Renée is a leading advocate for the study of the powerful connections between the arts and health. During her tenure as Artistic Advisor to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Renée spearheaded a collaboration with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with the participation of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The Sound Health initiative explored and brought attention to research and practice at the intersection of music, health, and neuroscience.
With Dr. Francis Collins, Director of the NIH, Renée visits the lab of Dr. John Tisdale, Senior Investigator in Molecular and Clinical Hematology.
